Tips for containing spread of swine flu

A swine flu outbreak appears to have killed dozens in Mexico and more cases are showing up in the United States and around the world.

Health officials are recommending several steps to prevent the spread of the virus:

If you have flu symptoms, stay home from work or school to avoid spreading the disease. Do not return until two days after your symptoms are gone.

Wash your hands often and cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze.

Go to the hospital if you have severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing;  but if your symptoms are mild, stay home to avoid spreading the virus to others at the hospital.

Masks may be recommended for health care workers, family members and others who come in close contact with swine flu patients, but there is no need for the general public to wear masks.

It is safe to eat properly handled pork. Cook it to at least 160F.

DB…

today is a busy day for us… we finally managed to charge a fellow who have been absent for almost a month…

Everyone in the office have given enough chance to him… but he did not learnt his lesson… he was awarded with 10 days of detention…

alot of paper work was done… but i din really feel anything until i saw him being handcuffed by the RP… *sad*

i dun know why but everyone seems to felt sad for him especially when he was handcuffed… told him before he can’t get away with tat…

sad thing is when i informed his parents and family… they dun really care about him…  no concern at all…

if i put myself into his shoes… i felt sad for him… his family doesnt even show concern abt wat had happened to him at all…

i really hope after his 10 days detention… he is able to learnt from his lesson and changed to a better person for his own sake… no more nonsense already…

HOW TO GET THE POLICE COME A-RUNNING?? And it happens everywhere

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU’RE OLD AND DON’T MOVE FAST ANYMORE

George Phillips , an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked “Is someone in your house?” He said “No,” but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.

Then the police dispatcher said “All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available. ” George said, “Okay.”

He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.

“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don’t have to worry about them now because I just shot them.” and he hung up..

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips’ residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George, “I thought you said that you’d shot them!”

George said, “I thought you said there was nobody available!”

The moral of the story is “Don’t mess with old people “

Live well, laugh often, love much!!!

Handsome Suit

Got to know abt this movie thru the radio… their review was good… wanted to catch this movie since ytd… but it seems tat all of my frens are not interested to watch…

lucky S is keen to watch tis movie… if not i would have missed such a nice movie…

*****

Handsome Suit is a hilarious comedy about a physically unattractive guy who turns into a hunk whenever he wear a special suit.

Takuro is our ugly main character, who makes up for his looks with a heart of gold and humour. He works at a chef in his mother’s diner and falls in love with his beautiful part-time worker, Hiroko.

To no one’s surprise, he’s rejected when he confesses his love towards Hiroko. Takuro firmly believes the reason for his rejection is his looks. But before he even has time to consider plastic surgery, he meets a salesman who introduces him to the ‘Handsome Suit’. Thus begins his double life as the gorgeous model, Annin Hikariyama and the unappealing chef, Takuro.

The Good:
The movie is funny throughout in depicting Takuro’s adventures and experiences. You’ll find yourself laughing at his awkward transformation into a hunk and his bid to lead both lives.

If you were to look deeper into the movie’s humour, you’ll most likely find yourself asking:

Would you discard everything to pursue superficial perfection?

Is what is on the outside what ultimately counts?

I know I wondered about these 2 questions when Takuro had to choose between his 2 person.

The way the movie shows its main character’s conflicting personalities as Annin and Takuro draws you into the plot and you will find yourself relating with Takuro.

The Bad:
The physical-beauty-is-important storyline kind of reminds you of both the Shrek movies and the Korean movie, 200 Pounds Beauty. Despite some similarities, The Handsome Suit certainly has some refreshing twists in the plot to keep you guessing about Takuro’s eventual decision whether to remain ugly or become handsome. Look out for the unexpected final plot twist!

The Ugly:
The only ugly aspect of the movie is Takuro and the suit, which looks like a cross between Pillsbury Doughboy and the Michelin Mascot.

The Verdict:
Watch this movie! Takuro may be ugly but The Handsome Suit is definitely adorable.

S and i had a great laugh thru out the entire movie… i nearly got choke while drinking…

after the movie… i wanted to catch a cab back home from wdls…

S and hubby dropped me off near the mrt taxi stand and i managed to hail the one and only cab there…

when i entered the taxi… i could smell a very strong acohol smell…

initially the driver is quite polite… i regretted the moment i told him my address…

i started to felt uncomfortable wif the acohol smell… i realised the driver unstable when he talks to me and the way he drives… he started to ask me STUPID QUESTIONS and i ignored him…

he seems unable to recognise the way to get out of the wdls circle… he asked me how to go to tampines as he is new… but from the way he talks and drives… i am very sure that he is drunk… getting more and more worried… i saw him going towards PIE when i told him i wanted to go by TPE…

immediately asked him to stopped by the side and told him tat i will take another cab instead…

he stopped and demand for $3 fare… i am damn angry lor… but for my safety wise… i jus pay him as its getting late… i dun wan him to beat me up for tat $3…

lucky i managed to hail another cab right after i alighted… and safety back home… tis type of taxi driver… should be caught and suspend their license sia… endanger anyone’s life…
